Chris at one of our sister sites, Engadget Mobile, adds his perspective to a Pinstack thread which reports that when the BlackBerry Pearl rings, any movement of, or to the device's trackball suppresses the ringer. This is said to happen even if the keylock is enabled.
Given there are no holsters especially made for the Pearl- yet- this bug can be irritating. That's because the jostling of the Pearl in your pocket can move the trackball. Even negligible movement, and the ringer stops doing what it is supposed to do.
Which is, you know, ring?

1. Just as I read on another blog, turning down the sensitivity of the trackball from 70 to 50 will eliminate this problem. I tested this with a jean pocket and purse.
