There's something about BlackBerrys. Unlike some other handhelds, there's no integrated signature capture screen.
But EchoSign is changing that. Today, they've just announced a new electronic signature service that will be compatible with most newer BlackBerry devices.
In tests for several months, the service works when a BlackBerry user receiving an email or other document that needs a signature types in their name and initials. At that point, the user sends the message to an EchoSign server.
The server then forwards signed PDFs to each receipient.
Sounds pretty good to me. But will the Luddites in target markets like government, financial and judicial offices accept this type of dcoumentation?

1. "But will the Luddites in target markets like government, financial and judicial offices accept this type of dcoumentation?" Probably as under the E-Sign Act they are deemed equivalent to written signatures. But if not, EchoSign also offers a written signature option where you fax back the signed document. That option works great, just not quite on your BlackBerry ;)
